I plan on applying to DO schools this summer. However I'm retaking a physics course this summer and it doesn't end until the beginning of august. My gpa is solid and with the retake it will be very competitive. I also did very well on the april mcats. Should I submit my application prior to receiving my grade in the retake. I'm just worried my gpa won't look as competitive and I won't get secondaries. Will it make a difference if I wait till august since I'll still be beating the august mcaters. If i submit earlier and state I'm retaking the course currently, will schools consider that? Since I've heard there is a 4-6 week processing time, should I submit now and I can update my grade by the time the processing is over? Thanks

I would submit it NOW! It's not hard to get secondaries. Some schools do not screen. Those that do requires you to meet their minimums which is 2.75 or thereabout for GPA. You sound like you have the numbers, even without the retake grade, to receive secondaries for all the schools you're planning to apply to. I'd say submit now as it takes a while for AACOMAS to process your application anyway. You can certainly update your grades when you get them. :luck:

Apply now!!!! It sounds like you believe you have a competitive MCAT score, which to schools proves your academic prowess (sometimes more so than your GPA depending on the adcom, school, etc). You can always update your schools with your physics score once you get it.
