Hello guys,

I'm currently working full time in the lab as research tech, and taking 4 classes at local university (GPA repair postbac). I know.. it was a bad idea to take too many classes, I thought I can pull it off (and I did try very hard... 🙁 )but,, I guess it's too late to regret upon my decision, so I just need to make a wise decision based on a situation I'm in right now.

Currently, I'm taking Cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Immunology.

I'm doing pretty good on Cell Biology and Molecular Biology (expecting to get As or at least A-'s).

The problem is Genetics and Immunology. For both of the classes, I'm in a range of B or B-, and If I do really really well on the final, I might be able to pull if off to B+ (but highly doubt it...)

I know B or B+ is still good grades and WD looks really bad on the transcript.. but my concern is that.. I'm taking this as gpa repair post-bac... I have no WD in the past, and some people say a couple of WD's would not hurt.

Do you think I should just WD those classes, and focus on two classes and try to get A's? and take WD again next year?
I am taking the MCAT this summer and planning to apply next year, so I have one more year anyways. Does this look bad on the transcript? I have about 3.2 Science gpa, so if I get around 3.2 gpa again.. I think it looks even worse on the transcript.. because you are not improving... (maybe it is true..... 🙁...) I really really need advice from you guys.... help!!!!!!

Depending on how much the 3.0 GPA will hurt you, I'd make a decision based on that. 2 classes with a B isn't so bad. Try to learn and move on from there.

How many credit hours is that 3.2 based on? Personally, take your B's and move on with some lessons learned. The difference between those B's and A's on your sGPA will be small, and if you can weave into your PS/narrative that you took 4 courses while working full time, and how flexing your muscles that way was rewarding in more ways than GPA rehab, I think you'll be fine.

I was psychology major back in undergrad, so I have relatively small amount of science credits compare to science major (but I was in a pre-med track, so I took all the pre-req courses). I don't have any extremly bad grades... (no grade below B-) but I have many B +/- 's...

I think I'll not withdraw them and try to do the best I can on the final. and make sure I have at least a couple of A's

I'm curious, though, when you summit the post-bac grade on AMCAS, I know you have a separate space to put your post-bac gpa. But I was wondering those grades are even subdivided into each year (eg. 1st year of postbac:3.4, 2nd year of postbac:3.5, etc) I'm assuming that when admission committee look at individual's grades, there will be some sort of graph indicating the gpa trends (freshman, sophomores, and so on and also 1st year of postbac? and 2nd year of postbac?)


Does anyone know?
