If I have about 30 hours with a dentist, should he write the number of hours in my letter or should he just include the time frame?
Thanks!

			Thanks!
Ideally, it would be best to include both.If I have about 30 hours with a dentist, should he write the number of hours in my letter or should he just include the time frame?

I would just in case some schools I think Tufts or BU has a requirement that the # of hours be included in the letter. Just tell your dentist to include it and you'll cover all your bases. And it would only be logical for the dentist to write "Mr So and So shadowed me for 100 hours and has shown his/her interest in dentistry by observing the following procedures blah, blah and blah."
If that's the case, maybe the schools should just write the letters themselves and ask the providers to sign and have it notarized.
Thanks everyone! I won't be applying to BU or Tufts. Would it hurt me if states 30 hours on my letter vs. not having hours (just having the time frame) and the dentist just writes nice stuff?
