Should you always submit the maximum amount of reference letters to schools?

Lets say a school will accept a maximum of 5 letters. Should you always send in 5 letters, if you have them?

I'm thinking the more support I get, the better, but I don't want to burden them. Im just wondering if some adcoms get sick of and look down on people who always submit the max.

ALSO: Is an MD reference letter valuable to the admissions panel? Mine says a lot about my character, but not more than any other letter i have. Because of the fact that it is an MD letter though, is it more valuable?

Thanks

I'm sure the adcoms don't really care either way, unless you submit below the minimum. They just want you to follow their guidelines, don't read too much into it. You're one in thousands of applicants.

Send as many letters as you think will help you.

Only send strong letters of recommendation. I don't think the MD degree of the letter writer will make that recommendation more valuable than it is.
