Gosh! It seems like just when you need full strength, a train comes a long and mows you over!

I have a horrible flu or something that is just NOT going away and we have midterms next week (two of which are actually finals). My body is yelling at me, "you need sleep to get better!" and my med school mind is saying, "sleep is the enemy, study til your eyes bleed!"

I'm feeling a little underprepared for the tests. Should I just gut it out as hard as I can and hope I pass? Or if when I'm nearing the tests, warn someone that I'm ill. I feel like it's a lame excuse, we all have issues we're dealing with, but I've lost a ton of hours of studying due to fever, chills, and the feeling that I'm swallowing glass shards. It's just really hard to study like that.

Anyway, I feel totally behind and like I might screw up big time. Any thoughts, comments, ideas, sympathy notes? thanks!!! :barf:

Yuck, that's awful. Do you get a little break after your exams? If so, I'd gut it out. If not ... I'd still gut it out, but it'll probably be harder to find the motivation. I hope you feel better!

In undergrad, I'd much rather sleep and rest than study while I'm sick. But that was undergrad; I don't know what I'd do in med school. Maybe I'd be in bed with taped lectures with my eyes closed.
