hey guys....i am completly un aware of the pharmacy process...due to some specific reasons...(non academic) I am planning on changing my career from premed to pharm...now I am a junior in college and want to do pharmacy... my major is biology so I think most of the classes I am taking are fine for either career...Now when I applied to colleges being in high school I had got into some 6 yr pharm programs...but now being in college I would like to know what I should do? What is the process and how long............

i am pretty upset about the situation but whatever I guess....hopefully Ill be able to do this..........

thanks

If you're having any doubts about whether you can do it, maybe you should take time off school and find out what you really want to do. Then you'll come back with movtivation and know you can do it.

its not that I dont know what I want to do...I do knwo what I want to do, its just that I have to use my back up plan now which is pharmacy (for specific reasons and not reasons like oh my gpa sucks for med school...) and I just dont know much about it the pharm process...

thx

Well whats the reason? Do you even really want to become a pharamcist? The entire process of applying, etc (not to mention attending pharm school and working as pharamcist for the rest of your life) will kind of suck if you dont' even have the motivation to become a pharmacist and its just your back up. Not saying you can't do it, it'll just suck. IMO.

What school's are you looking to apply to? Go to their website and they'll have all the requirements you need to apply, pre-reqs , pcat yes or no, LOR's, dates to apply , etc etc

I understand what your saying...I do want to do this...this was an option in my career plans...I just didnt think I would not do premed because still till today I want to do med, Im just not able to...personal issues....but pharm is cool too...

I believe the school is 4 to 6 years depending on where you go. It sounds like you have made the right choice in choosing Pharmacy as your career choice. Check with a few universitys and they should give you the answers. Although You can imagine that Bio and chemistry and math are your areas of focus!
