hey all SDN'ers

just wanted to find out if anyone is familiar with the USMLE/ECFMG process, and maybe could help...

i signed up for the USMLE Step 1 exam recently, they received the application (according to the OASIS website) on Jan 21, there were some issues with like the registered name and the name on my medical diploma, but i have sent supporting legal documents to sort that out..

anyhoo, im about to start work in feb 2011, and would like to delay the exam to march 2012.

am i able to do so? are there any charges involved? can they hold my application for this long? can i have a new eligibility period of march to may 2012 when they finally approve my usmle application. currently it is stil "in progress", although they finally accepted my "Certificate of Identification Form".

you should probably call ECFMG directly. here's their number 2153865900.
there is a charge to change the eligibility period if i remember correctly. but i think that's if u pass a certain amount of time or something.. again check their site, but i suggest calling since that will give you a definitive answer as to what you need to do next.
