Ive heard from only 4 of the 14 schools I applied to. 1 rejection, 1 waitlist, 1 post-dec interview coming up, and 1 school that put me on hold for later review.

So 10 schools have been completely silent for months now. Is there any chance of a post-dec invite? Or should I assume silence=rejection?

I know many people here are also dealing with the same issue, so I thought Id ask.

I assume that my silent schools will probably never get back to me. However, you just never know what can happen. You'll have to wait and see. I know it sucks to hear that.

I wouldn't be so quick to assume that silence means rejection. I also have 7 schools now that I haven't heard a word from since July, and I just got an interview invite yesterday from one of them! You never know what can happen and there is bound to be a lot more movement and interviews coming out once the first wave of deposits go in and people start making choices at the schools they'v been offered admission to.

Same here, it's been a slow moving process for me in comparison to some of the guys on here with 5+ acceptances.

It's too bad we're not first round draft picks, but chances are you'll probably get in somewhere later. I also just got an invite to a school that's been silent ever since I submitted their secondary back in August.

Just think of it as a blessing in disguise because guess what comes with a later acceptance? That's right, more time to make your deposits.

Blake1e...did you by chance find out any more info on why the one school rejected you? It may shed light on the rest of your situation. It seems almost unfathomable that you only got 3 interviews out of 14 schools with your DAT scores (I presume your GPA is over 3.0 and you had a decent P.S.). Something is holding you back. Did you trust your LOR writers to write a strong letter? Did you have a string Withdrawals or an IA against you? Anyway, wish you the best and hope you can get into some schools soon!

Congrats on the invite. I know the cycle is rough on you for some strange reason even though you're one of the top guys applying.

Haha yeah later deposit time might be good. Hopefully the blessing will come. I've signed up for 18 credits (waiting for permission for 21) next semester just in case.

I called NYU twice they kept telling me to call again later for the person in charge.
My Gpa is low. Overall is 3.2 & sci 3.02 (good upward trend, bad 1st 2 yrs). I think my PS is good. I spent a lot of time at it. The interviewer in Nova even said he liked a lot of my clever "catch-phrases" as he called them, I think he meant he liked my witty rhetoric.

None of the LoR writers knew me personally but I believe they were alright. (Upper level chem professor (A), TA supervising professor, & 2 from shadowing)

Only had 2 or 3 Ws. IA? Not sure what that is. But no arrests or trouble with school.

Thanks for the support. I'm trying everything I could think to get in this cycle and improve for next cycle if I don't.

I have yet to hear from NYU and Boston and SIU. I applied to SIU really late, so I do not expect an acceptance.

It doesn't even matter for me though. I think I will call the schools and tell them to stop considering me..

I think you are just gonna have to wait and try hard not to panic. If after the end of January, you hear nothing, then maybe you should start getting ready for next cycle.

Good luck.

I am in the same boat with silent schools. Only thing I have heard is reject from Case. I applied the 3rd week in september. Anyone have any clue or idea as to when I will hear from other schools? Most on AADSAS say that my application is under review but 2 say that application is complete. Any inclinations would be great!

Blake1e... I haven't hear back from 11 schools....🙁

Haha ok ok, sorry, I'm just joshing you guys. OP (and dentista) - I would think anything is possible until you get that cold, hard rejection in the mail. Even then, everything is negotiable (right Blake? haha). But really, look at how much action there is in the "I just withdrew my acceptance from this school" thread, there's no way school's classes are anywhere close to being all filled up and set in stone. Waiting sucks, but I think you guys stick it out long enough you'll see some more action and get another chance to battle your way into the class of 2018.

If some of the schools we are interested in are OOS and we haven't heard back from them, do you think it is appropriate to call them? If you do think it is appropriate, then when should we call them? Is now ok, or should we wait a little while?

Thanks.

I think you should call them NOW, I will wait until the semester is over in 10 days to call them and notify them i will be updating my grades and also to get their email/fax number to directly send a copy of my transcript. but not sure I will highly impress them, have like a 3.4GPA Master in biology!
