i know that on the spectrum of things to take into consideration when picking a career this is probably near the bottom but anyways. i've always had my own office before entering medical school and really enjoyed the opportunity an office affords you to be able to go in there close the door and get your own work done.

im sure clinic based specialties have their own office but what about hospitalists, ccm, and other specialties?

you're in the wrong profession if you need your own office to get "work" done.

Good question and the answer is it depends on where you are a hospitalist or intensivist. Many have no personal office as would a traditional internist. I understand what you are saying and do very much like sitting at my desk at lunch and reading journals.

did you even read my question? where did i say i need an office to get work done? i dont NEED an office to get work done by any means. i was simply saying that i really enjoyed the privacy an office gives you when doing menial administrative tasks. plenty of physicians inpatient and outpatient have their own office, some specialities more than other.

next time ready the post before you respond

Right. Well buddy you probably won't be able to get much of that "work" done because the hospital IT staff have blocked all of those websites.

It's not that hard to connect your laptop to an iphone.
