I took the MCAT last August (2004) and this April...and suffice to say I didn't notice much in terms of similarity. The PS for August MCAT was chemistry heavy with a lot of redox stuff and solutions and stuff where the April MCAT was pretty even with a more lean towards physics (particularly waves and kinematics). I also felt that the April PS section was definitely harder. The verbal last August felt more difficult, had 2 very long and dry passages, one with rocks and one with stars and planets and both had around 9-10 questions. The April verbal seemed a little easier but maybe because I practiced a lot. The only thing that seemed consistent was Bio, mostly Genetics, some physio but the April had more orgo than August. The basic point is that brush up on everything. The MCAT is not a creature of habit and come test day, they can throw anything at you.
Taken as a whole, I doubt that the variety of passages given nationwide in the April test is any different from the variety of passages given nationwide in the August test. Since there are several forms, each consisting of a unique combination of passages, it's very likely that you won't see the same content on two different MCATs.
Well, how about difficulty of a section for every year? What I mean is, april 05 test had a very difficult PS section, does this mean the august test will have a very difficult BS section? Was there any correlation in 2003, or 04?
