Anyone here (who was accepted at Sinai) know what their acceptance procedure is? They say that I just have to give them my word (with no deposit) that I will attend Sinai and will reject all other offers. I'm not ready to do that yet! Isn't it possible for them to just hold my space (with or without a deposit) until I make up my mind?

WHAT??? That's completely inappropriate!:wow:

You should report them to AAMC, because that is totally against the traffic rules.

On the other hand, it sounds like they will probably give you an unconditional acceptance soon anyway. If I were you I would just wait and see...

I dont' think you understand (or perhaps I don't understand you): I was accepted (unconditionally). The question is how do I hold on to this acceptance, since I'm not definitely sure I want to go there yet. Most schools have been saying: send us a deposit, and this will hold your space. They said: Write us, and tell us that you will attend Sinai and you will reject other offers, and we trust your word.

Oh, I see. I thought you were saying that they wouldn't give you the acceptance until you committed to them.

That does sound wierd...the purpose of giving them a deposit is so that you can express interest without having to commit totally. What they're telling you to do doesn't give you that option.

Maybe you could call them and tell them that you aren't comfortable making the commitment at this time, but you would like to secure a spot until the deadline?

have you contacted the director personally yet? i would suggest doing that, as i too found the acceptance letter a little confusing. i assume you're referring to the one month deadline? apparently, in that time, all they want from you is to know that you're interested and maybe where they stand on your list. but i would definitely suggest e-mailing or calling Diomedes himself with any specific questions. he responded to my e-mail within two hours (at night on a holiday!).

congrats,
aaron
