sinai human sim elective

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's good. You learn the basics of the dummy, and run scenarios for the residents. Also, direct contact with Dr. Levine, the Program Director. Be sure, if you do it, that you're "on" because that'll way heavily as to whether or not you get a spot there. At the very least, a good "in" for a strong LoR.

Good luck.

I generally agree with this statement. However, I think there is some value in simulation - especially when you are first starting out and/or when there are very unusual scenarios you are not likely to see very often (if ever) in real life (e.g., MH, etc). After all, we practice chest compressions on dummies during BLS and shock dummies with low voltage during ACLS, don't we? Sometimes it's better to first get a "feel" and little bit of a comfort level for what it's really like on someone who can't sue you if you screw up.
