I'm wait-listed at Einstein and accepted to Sinai. I really like Sinai, but I'm hesitant to sign the dotted line just yet. Any folks have thoughts on why it would be worth it to wait for Einstein, especially if I only have about a fifty-fifty shot at acceptance? I just want to be done with this and know where I'm going. Any New York students or applicants know both programs well?

I struggled with a similar choice (Einstein vs. Sinai waitlist), and met several people at my Einstien revisit making the same choice. I felt that Einstein was a better-organized program in some ways, and had stronger research (particularly in my field), but the location was just awful. I guess it depends what your priorities are. Anyway, I ultimately got off the waitlist at my first choice (NU), so I didn't have to make the decision, but it would've been tough.

Maybe if you told us your thoughts or your criteria for a program, people could psot more helpful advice.

Wait a minute. I think I know who you are. If so, we've already talked about this.

I'm good. 🙂 I thought you had decided on Sinai. Is something in particular holding you back (besides the sheer terror of withdrawing from eveywhere else and making it official)?

Almost officical. I've withdrawn from everywhere eles but the two. I am a little scared to make it final, and I would like another look at Einstein, preferrably accepted revisit VIP style. But whateves, I think I'm going to withdraw this weekend and be done with it all.

I would think about what kind of research you want to do and, specifically, what lab you'd want to be in for your PhD. I imagine the MD work will be relatively similar at each place, compared to various lab experiences.

Congrats on getting into Sinai. 👍
