Hi everyone,

I've been absolutely struggling with my decision to choose between Sinai and Northwestern (Feinberg). I'd definitely have more college friends in NYC, but I loved Streeterville and the surrounding area of Feinberg. I want to match back into Boston ideally, and it does seem that Sinai is matching more students into Boston but I don't know if that's because of student preference versus Sinai actually setting students up better for Boston residencies. I think I want to do something surgical but not sure beyond that. Financial aid at both is similar. I am worried about Sinai not being an institution and thus potentially having less funding for research etc. Would love to hear from students making a similar choice and how they felt about it, or from current students at both schools.

I don't think going to Northwestern will prevent you from matching on the East coast. You can always do aways there. Research here is great. You won't have any issue with getting research done if you are interested in specialties requiring high research output. Our average Step 2 last year was 258 so that also won't hinder you at all. You say financial aid is similar at both, do you mean the COA will be similar at both? If not, Chicago will be cheaper to live in than NYC.

^ agree that if COA is wildly different that tips the scales to Northwestern.

I think Sinai will give you a slight edge on Boston (key word SLIGHT) just because of geographical closeness + likelihood of your mentors having overlapping networks with the Boston programs. With the benefit of being close to friends, I'd probably say with the limited info here, if COA isn't wildly different, my vote is Sinai.

Congratulations on great options.
