Hi. I'm looking to get some advice about what I should do about my application. I'm a reapplicant this year and I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice about what I should do.

My DAT scores from Sept 06 are
Academic Average: 20

Perceptual Ability: 17

Quantitative Reasoning: 16

Reading Comprehension: 22

Biology: 19

General Chemistry: 22

Organic Chemistry: 22
Total Science: 20

I graduated from Stony Brook with a BS in Biology. My UG GPA is 3.31, and science is 3.19. I'm going to be going to UMDNJ for my MS this Fall, and I have an F on my transcript from a class that I thought I had dropped, but hadn't (I petitioned to have the grade changed many times, unsuccessfully) and am currently retaking it (it's calculus.... ugh) Well, I'm supposed to be re-taking the DAT this Monday, but I don't feel ready enough at all. And I'm wondering if I should just bail? Are my scores good enough to get me in? My app and everything else is already submitted ( i was really late last cycle with submitting ei: November). Help!!!???

thanks for reading guys, and for your input.

Remember that dental schools want to see that you have bettered yourself from the previous year. So, whatever you saw as a weakness, they want to see that you tried fixing that weakness. If you don't know, call a school you were denied from and ask them what they thought you needed work on. Make sure you're bringing something new to the table the second time around. Your DAT scorers are not low, but maybe a particular school wanted to see that QR. Your best bet is calling around to the schools you applied to last cycle. Good luck!

if i may ask, did you get any interviews last cycle with ur stats??
and good luck on the DAT

no interviews.... just rejections 🙁 those heartbreakers....

I wouldnt retake. Write an addendum on the application regarding the F, that sort of thing happens more often than you think. Your MS will help. You applied late last cycle and that is probably why you didn't get interviews
