Thanks everyone for your responses.... I volunteered my single-parent status on the application because I am proud of it and it is my life: work, school, raising a child, volunteer at the pharmacy, volunteer at my son's school.... it's my life (yes, my personal life is nonexistence 🙂 )
In the interview, I spoke of my son when they asked "tell me something about yourself"... naturally. And when they asked "what is your greatest accomplishment" 😍 Although my son is only 4, he's only in preschool, I can't say he's the smartest kid in his class or got the highest GPA or has found the cure for cancer, but I can say he's the most caring, loving child. He's kind and he shows compassion to his teachers and peers....
Since I brought up the word "compassion" naturally the interviewers next question was "give us an example of compassion that you have encountered" 🙂
The interview went very well but it's hard to say.... They were all nice and friendly from begin to end....
