single PAT question (#9 achiever 1)

okay so this is a question on the pat section of the first achiever exam and i simply cannot understand how D is wrong. all of you pat wiz's out there, please offer some of your expertise

on answer D, the middle point that sticks out is too far out...on the original picture you can see it does not line up with the main body of the block but is recessed slightly
