Single section disqualifier....

Hi All,

Just wandering which schools completely overlook packages with a single low DAT score. I'm certain my fourteen in QR disqualified me from Temple. Anyone know for certain of other schools with minimums on all sections???

I applied to UDM and Pacific last year with a 15 in PAT and 16 in QR...both schools sent me letters saying that although there are exceptions, they would "prefer" that all applicants have a minimum of 17 on all sections..least to say, I didn't hear anything else from them after that. I've retaken the DAT since and now have a 18 PAT and still a 16 in QR😡..heard nothing from Pacific yet this year and received another letter from UDM recommending that I retake the DAT to improve QR....

I was accepted at Boston U. with a 14 in QR.... I also interview at Creighton and asked them if I should retake the DAT because of my 14 and they said they don't even look at this section...

My QR was 5 points lower than most of my other sections and it wasn't raised during the interviews. I think that's one of the less important sections, as long as you've taken the math prereqs.

nooooooo tha'ts wat i got in QR , 🙁 I REALLY Really hope they overlook it in light of the fact that other sections have higher scores and even more importantly the applicant has a strong gpa perhaps? good lors? etc etc there's more to me than my qr score is what i'm trying to say and although i haven't been interviewed yet i just hope that schools do see that and that's not what is holding my app back.

my friend received a letter from a school saying:

the average applicant for this cycle has "19" in every section.

they asked him to retake because he had 18 in RC and OC. All others were 19 or higher....

Got a 15 on QR and no school cared. It's the overall package that they look at!

I got a 15 on QR and got an acceptance to temple. (well i think) I only got an email saying i should have received something in the mail. Ill call to confirm tomorrow.

this helps, i just hope they do still look at the whole package because with the number of availble seats decreasing adcoms might be more tempted to just weigh us out based on the gpa and dat number :/
