Single-spaced or Double Spaced?

For the supplemental application essays, should I single space or double space it?
It's pretty long, 2.5 pages single spaced.

Double spacing would be easier on the eye, but then it'll come out to be like 5 pages.
and single spacing is more standard?

What should I do?

Does the question mention anything about character counts? As long as it is within that number, formatting doesn't really matter.

There wasn't any character limit. I think I'm just going to single space it. I put spaces between the paragraphs so I looks better
