The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) Medical Student Council (MSC) is proud to announce the SIR 2015 Medical Student Days. This is an exciting opportunity for medical students to attend SIR’s 40th Annual Scientific Meeting (http://www.sirmeeting.org) and gain exposure to the emerging field of Interventional Radiology (IR). The Medical Student Day programming will introduce students to IR and the new IR residency. Attendees will have the chance to learn from and mingle with preeminent IR innovators from prestigious institutions around the country. Registration is FREE for SIR medical student members (conveniently, SIR membership is also FREE for medical students; become a member here: http://sir.personifycloud.com/personifyebusiness/Membership/InTrainingMemberJoin.aspx). You won’t want to miss this opportunity!

Medical student attendees are encouraged to apply for the 2015 Annual Scientific Meeting’s Medical Student-in-Training (MIT) travel scholarship, which will provide a $500 travel stipend. More information, including a link to the online application, can be found here: http://www.tfaforms.com/334677. The application is open now. The deadline for eligible participants to complete their applications is 12:00 AM EDT, October 1, 2014, but please don’t wait! Apply today!

Finally, for those ambitious students amongst you, Medical Student Days will include an abstract contest. The MSC’s Education and Research Committee will review submitted abstracts. Some of the abstracts submitted will be selected for an oral presentation during the SIR 2015 Medical Student Days. All research presented must be within the field of IR and presenters must be registered for the conference. More details can be found here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/medical-students-submit-an-abstract.1073044/. Please note that this is a separate application process from the SIR 2015 annual scientific meeting abstract submission process.

We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!
