Dear Medical Students,
We are pleased to announce that we are currently accepting abstracts for submission to the upcoming 39th Annual SIR Scientific Meeting, March 22 to 27, 2014 in San Diego, CA. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed for oral presentation at the Society of Interventional Radiology Medical Student Day, Sunday, March 23, 2014.

Deadline
Abstract Submission begins October 9, 2013 at 9:00 AM EDT
Abstract Submission closes February 1, 2014 at 5:00 PM EDT
Please email your abstracts to [email protected] with the subject "Medical Student Day Abstract Oral Presentation." (Please copy and paste this subject in order to ensure that the email is filtered properly.)
Eligibility
The abstract presenter must be registered for the conference prior to presenting the abstract, a current medical student, and not an SIR Medical Student Council member.
The research presented must be within the field of interventional radiology.
Structure
Abstract limit is 2200 characters (maximum, including spaces).
Scientific Abstracts should include the following sections: purpose, materials and methods, results, and conclusion (optional references not included in character count).
Case Report Abstracts should include the following sections: purpose, clinical presentation, background, technique, results, conclusion.
Be sure to state findings in detail sufficient to support conclusion(s).

All reviewers will be blinded to the abstract authors.
Formatting
Please submit abstract as a 2 separate PDF documents (1 title page, 1 for abstract body) with 1-inch margins, Arial 11-font, and double spacing. Each page should be numbered.
Title page should include the title, each authors name, submitting author's contact information (including institution affiliation, email, and phone number), and conflict of interest statement.
Figures should be placed at the end of the manuscript after the references section.
The file should be labeled as follows: "Medical Student Day Title Last Name First Initial," "Medical Student Day Body Last Name First Initial."
Authorship
Submission of an abstract for consideration should be completed by the individual who seeks to present at the conference. Please note this abstract submission is for oral presentation only.
Review Process
Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the SIR Resident and Fellow Section and Medical Student Council. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by February 15th.
