Sitting on only 3 interview with a AA of 23

I ask my self why do I only have three interviews when I have an DAT AA 23 and TS 23. My gpa sucks which is a 3.3 and I have worked in a dent office way to long to even mention hours of experience. So for all of you out there I just want to tell you that be confident in your self scores are just numbers that dont tell who you are or your eligibility to get in. Even if you dont get in this year keep trying and believe in your dreams because you cant loose if you never quit trying. By the way this is my third time applying and I have my fingers crossed for this year.

My GPA and DAT are higher than yours and I have 4 interviews. There are people that have more interviews than me and have lower stats. I applied June 2nd. Those with more interviews, lots of them are at schools I would not want to attend. So keep that in mind also....if those 3 schools you have are top notch then I wouldn't worry about it. If they're bottom of the barrel then something is seriously wrong with your application.

23 obviously isnt a high enough score......just kiddin. It might be the GPA though. Be thankful that you have 3 interviews though. No one on admissions looks at a 23 and hesitates about that score, it's clearly somethin else.

wow! third time with those stats? that is crazy! How many schools did you apply? What is your PAT? Hang on to your dreams, and best of luck to you.

Be patient guys, I know how tough it is but theres not much you can do. I've gotten 4 out of 6 so far which isnt bad but they will all come. I do believe though that GPA matters much more than DATs. I think the dental schools understand that to maintain a 3.7 or higher takes much more effort and brainpower than to have a good day taking a standardized test. If you have a solid GPA, all the schools will get back to you eventually with an interview offer, if not then hopefully your DAT score will make a lacking GPA look great. Either way, most you out there have awesome stats and I'm sure you will eventually get interviewed by all the schools you applied to.

this is crazy!! it seems like either you have a red flag somewhere in your app. (like a really bad reference you keep using) or you aren't applying to realistic schools (harvard?, unconn?--i read on the boards that they place a high emphasis on your gpa).

this year I made a 23 on my DAT before this i took the DAT twice and I made an 18 and 19. My interviews are at very good schools. Baylor, UTHSC Houston and Temple. I know my refrences very well and I know all they have to say is good things about me. I hope the number of interviews wont matter as much post dec 1st. We will see what happens! I also have a interview at case in april dont know if I should go to that since it is for an alternate list will find out after dec 1st I guess

When did you submit your app? Looks like you're from TX given your three TX interviews...Some schools might figure that you'll definitely go to a TX school...You should, they're sooo cheap (and pretty good from what I hear)!!

I also only applied to three schools.

I think you should just be happy that you have a decent shot at getting accepted by three schools. I decided early on that I wasn't going to worry about why any particular school wasn't interested in me as long as at least one of them was.

I feel the OP, although this is my first time applying & my stats are higher, I too have only 3 interviews. Submitted app 7/20, took DAT 8/30. I WAS under the impression that it wasn't late, but now I'm not so sure.

Any other year it would have been perfect timing, but I think this year the word just got around that applying VERY EARLY is the only way to go. From talking with the schools it seems like they've never had this many apps in so early. I had a buddy apply around the same time as you last year and he went through the same deal, he pretty much forced me to get the app out early...I'm glad he did. You'll definitely get accepted somewhere man, and I'm sure more interviews are on the way in the future.
