Scott said it best...if you dont get accepted to SIU...you are pretty much waitlisted until they know that you are far enough away from being accepted that it is safe enough to send a rejection letter. If you are within the range to get accepted (i.e. 1-10 on list) you will be considered (I am assuming here) probably until the first day of school. Point is, they dont flat out reject you (from personal experience) until they are 100% sure you have no chance to come off the waitlist.

I spoke with Angela about 2 weeks ago. She told me there are under 100 people on the waitlist. And yes...some rejection letters were sent...but not all. With 400+ applicants...47 seats...100 waitlisted...250 rejection letters should/would have been sent.
Also, I asked her if there was a difference between "alternate" or "waitlist" status because she told me I was an "alternate". She said absolutely not. The list will be ranked in June/July.

Just wondering if any of those waitlisted had their status say that yet on Infosource. I was told over a month ago about being on the waitlist, but it doesn't say that yet on infosource.
