Hello everyone,
I'll have an interview at SIU in a few weeks and I am a little bit nervous. Does anyone know any information about the interview? Is there any writing question?

I have heard that they have an ethical writing question before the interview. Also heard the interview was relatively short and laid back. Possibly a good cop bad cop situation.

I'm pretty sure it is open ended. Write as much as you need to to support your answer.

Thanks a bunch, bprior! You seem to know a lot about SIU! Are you applying this cycle?

Yes, I applied and am interviewing in November. I go to SIUE right down the street from SIU SDM. I know a lot of people applying there and some that currently attend. There is not a lot of activity on here for SIU.

What would be an example of the ethical writing question? Is it like when they ask you what would you do in a cheating situation during interviews?

I have not heard anything from them yet. I still have my hopes up though because during the interview they said they wait until December 3rd to notify.

@KMCW: If you don't mind me asking, when did you interview at SIU?

First there's a personality test you take, then the writing sample. Don't worry, it's easy and doesn't take very long, but they do read it before they interview you and refer to it during the interview. Then for the actual interview, 2 interviewers take turns asking questions. None particularly too difficult, though they did ask me about a personal challenge I overcame and how, which I sort of stumbled through. They ask the greatest strength and greatest weakness question. What do you think will be the hardest aspect of dental school? Where do you see yourself practicing? etc. Don't worry guys, it's pretty laidback (as most dental school interviews are). I interviewed October 30th at 8:30, the first day and first time slot. I have heard from Marquette but a lot of the schools announcing have a habit of telling people a day or two ahead. Southern does not seem to have that habit. I actually go to SIUE as well.

YES. We are eligible for dec 3 acceptance. I was emailed to originally interview in October but had to reschedule for November 27 and asked person on the phone if I'd still be considered for dec 3 acceptance. She said yes. Fingers crossed. My cheapest option.

Hey guys! I also interviewed on Nov. 27th. I was accepted on Dec. 3rd. Have you heard anything yet?
