I live in Illinois and actually graduated from S.I.U.C. in 1998 with a Bachelors. I thought about trying for S.I.U.E., but after I read that they are not accredited and will not be fully accredited until a year before I would graduate from there, I opted not to take the risk.

I have heard that S.I.U.E.'s objective is to educate local people that will work locally in the community after they graduate. What they don't want is a bunch of folks coming down from Chicago to get a less costly education, graduate, and then move back to Chicago to get the better paying jobs.

I will be very curious to hear how the facilities, faculty, and education is there. Keep us informed as to how the process is going.

hey im in the same boat, I got an interview this thrusday (march 9th) at SIUE and dont really know what to expect. The website doesn't offer too much info so im kind of nervous....and I really don't know what to say if they ask why I chose SIUE. Honestly, I applied because I live in Illinois and dont want to move of state. I also got an interview from UIC and an MCV from Midwestern. Those two schools are probably my ideal choices, but I think SIUE would also be great because its secluded in southern Illinois away from distractions. Plus since its a new program you know they will work hard to make it challenging and competative with the other schools in the nation. So yea....what was my point again?...hahaha

I also have an interview on Thursday for SIUE. I currently go to Indiana University but I'm from St.Louis. They give out 150 interviews and accepted 84 people last year, so I like my odds. Good luck guys!
