Hello everyone!

I didn't see a new thread for the upcoming cycle for SJSU!

How is everyone's application process going? I'm currently trying to submit my OTCAS application asap. Does anyone know how soon we should start mailing our documents to the department? Thank you!

Hi! Thanks for making this thread! I'm going to be mailing my documents to the department as soon as I receive them all. I'm aiming for a week before October 1st so the department can have all of my documents by the time applications open. Have you submitted the OTCAS application yet? If so, how long did it take for them to process it? Unfortunately I have a professor that still has to submit my letter and a transcript from a community college to process and I'm worried for the application process time after I submit those.

I haven't yet as I'm still trying to perfect my personal statement :,) but I heard processing can take anywhere from a few days to a month. I can let you know once I do! I believe you can still submit the application even if your letter of recs or transcripts are in progress!

If you don't mind me asking, how long is your personal statement? I'm unsure if there is word count limit. Mine is currently 792 and I feel like it might be too long because I've seen others say around 500 words is recommended.

Mine is roughly 900 words, so I definitely need to reduce it. I saw on other threads that SJSU accepts up to 2 pages, so I think you should be okay. Do you happen to know if they read the one uploaded on OTCAS or the one mailed in?

I submitted my OTCAS application! Hopefully it gets verified quickly. I'm not too sure which one they'll read but I'm thinking maybe the one we mail in since SJSU says we can make changes to the personal statement after we submit it to OTCAS. I don't see why they would say that if they were just going to read the OTCAS one.

Awesome, I hope it gets verified soon! That sounds right, thank you for your help.

If anyone was wondering, I submitted it Thursday 08/29 around 4:30 PM and it was verified 09/02 at 9:30 AM, so it was relatively quick.

I submitted mine on 9/9 and it was verified today, 9/11.

It's very nerve-racking haha. Does anyone else have a hold on their MySJSU account that says "intent to enroll"? I don't remember seeing that till now.

you have such amazing stats! best of luck 🙂

Hello! Congrats on everyone's acceptance. I hope to turn in my papers by this coming week. Do ya'll think I have a very low chance of getting in?

I haven’t heard back yet and don’t totally know how that would affect your chances. I’ve heard the earlier you submit the application the better, but I think it would still matter on your stats. I have a friend who applied late (early January) a couple years back and got accepted.

Congrats on the acceptance!! If you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats?

Thank you for giving me hope! May I ask when you submitted your application?

By any chance, did anyone apply for the OTCAS fee waiver this cycle? If so, how long did they process your request?

I submitted mine late October, I don’t remember the exact date but roughly 25th-30th or so. And then I have no idea about the fee waiver info sorry!

Hi all I got my conditional acceptance email late last night at around 12:30 a.m. (I applied the first week of October)! So excited to meet you guys!

Hi everyone! I got my conditional acceptance today at 5:52pm. Wanted to give hope to others out there since I felt I didn't have as much experience as past applicants and had the minimum 80 hours for shadowing. So excited to start this journey with you all!

Is anyone going to take the neuroanatomy UCLA extension course this quarter? If so, I'd love to make a group chat 🙂

Hi guys!! I know this is super early to think about, but I think I will be moving to an apartment in the santa clara area (seems nice/safe.) I was wondering if anybody would be down to ride share if we end up with similar schedules (for example i drive 2x a week, other 2x a week, etc.) idk just an idea! 🙂

Has anyone come across a course outline/syllabus for this course? I’m thinking of in taking it during the spring but the (very few) ratemyprof reviews aren't the best

Weekly quizzes, 2 lit reviews and 2 presentations for the entire course. I heard the SJSU's neuro class is harder (from other threads i read) and its ~$500 more than UCLA's so I took my leap of faith. Only in the 1st week right now, but I can let you know how it goes!

That would be great!! Thanks so much

Hi guys!! I have not received an acceptance email however i did receive an email from Dr. Smith asking me to consider the OTD program starting end of this month. I'm confused on what this means regarding the status of my MSOT application, if she said i have a strong application that qualifies for the OTD program i would assume i will also be accepted into MSOT? Did anyone only receive the OTD offer but no MSOT acceptance yet?

Hello! I was curious to hear from those who received an offer for the OTD program—are you planning to accept the offer or remain committed to the Fall MSOT program?
