I work well with this one professor. However, a lot of his classes end in microbiology (general, pathogenic, environmental......). I'm planning on taking two of his other courses in the coming semesters. To what extent is taking similar coursework ill advised, assuming that similar coursework is based upon similar course titles? I plan on taking a total three courses this professor.
 
Do it. YOu could just as easy ask " so there are a few courses that end in chemistry such as, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry Physical Chemistry, BioChemistry, etc, Should I take them?"

Edit: In otherwords it is not ill advised, its called getting a degree..

With that said you cant take general Chem, then take intro chem.. that just looks stupid.
 
Agree with above. It makes you look interested in microbiology. If you can deal with that, then go for it.
