If I don't respond to an open house invitation (too expensive to fly), does it decrease your chances of getting an interview? I'm thinking it shows a lack of interest...Calling the school probably wouldn't help. They would probably just give me a pre-programmed response like, "other factors come into our consideration of a candidate: community service, experience in dentistry, motivation toward dentistry, letters of recommendation, applicant essay, credit hours/course load and competitiveness of undergraduate institution, etc. "
