I am using older TBR for most of my prep besides CARS and PS which I will use KA
TBR supplemented with EK 9th, old TPR SW, and planning on all KA passages.

Is it really worth it to do Uworld? It's really expensive and I'm tight on cash. I would appreciate anecdotes.

The only real material you need for the MCAT imo is Khan Academy for content review (especially psych) and UWorld. Their passages and explanations are hands down 10x better than any other third party question bank. If you can swing it financially, I'd definitely recommend using it.

If you already have TBR, you do NOT need UWorld. Some people love UWorld, but for me they were too much compared to my actual biology section and unrealistic for the other sections. They have cool visual effects, which I think is why people like them. Their explanations are good, but not as good as what you already have with TBR.

if you have not purchased the AAMC question banks and practice exams, that is a much better use of your money than uworld. these questions are taken from actual MCAT exams and are the closest to the real thing.

i scored a 521 without ever using my uworld purchase. instead, i focused on full-length practice exams AAMC question banks. if you have a long time until you take the MCAT – over three months – then consider purchasing both uworld and the AAMC question banks so you don't run out of questions. otherwise, AAMC is the gold standard.

Do the UW qbanks, and read the explanations they provide for the questions. The explanations are clear and concise, and they will allow you to brush up on content while you’re doing questions. After finishing UW, start the AAMC section banks.

The danger of jumping straight into the AAMC section banks is that you won’t be ready content-wise and will waste the resource. UW is a fantastic bridge between content review and AAMC practice material.

Uworld if you can get it free can be useful. I don’t think it’s worth what ever they charge for it otherwise. At a certain point, it becomes not about using every resource but being comfortable with content review from a few resources and knowing it really well. Tbh I think all you need is Kaplan for sciences, khan 96 page doc for psych, khan academy mcat practice for practice questions on specific things you struggle in, and then aamc qpacks section banks and full lengths.

Uworld is not gold standard. AAMC is gold standard. I know students who have scored 520+ NOT using UWORLD in 2019 and 528s as well.
Ditto. I used no questions other than AAMC and Khan Academy And got a 521. Sure, KA is only about 70% being Hit and the rest miss, but the 70% that are hit are 10000% AAMC gold. And it is free. And there is a **** load of questions.

Whatever works best for you and whatever you can afford then do it, but IMHO, UWorld is by no means necessary.
