Skipping placebo pills on triphasic bc

So I had some patients on ogesterel which is no longer made so the nurse called in Nortel 777 with direction to skip placebo every month. Does this seem weird to anyone? I don't think I've seen that done with a triphasic before and she did it for every patient in her office who was on ogesterel which isn't even triphasic.

I looked this up not long ago and it doesn’t sound like the little research done showed anything to be concerned about. The use of triphasic oral contraceptives in a continuous use regimen. - PubMed - NCBI

There are actually tons of articles about it for laypeople if you Google “skip triphasic period” which leads me to believe this may be very common.

Any formulation is fine, though monophasic pills are a more common choice.
