It's always better to meet with people in person. Always.Has anyone ever tried a study group via Skype? Just an idea I had recently. Looking for physical sciences study buddy 🙂

I actually had a very successful Skype study partner for ochem. One nice thing is that it seems to take less time... I'm always less efficient in person and end up doing a lot of chitchat.
I don't know why I'd want a study partner, but it's very hard to find a good study partner. They can't be dumber than you, or you'd end up learning less. They can't be too much smarter than you, or they'd end up bored and you'd end up feeling inferior.
Furthermore, learning-with-other-people only works if there's a source of authority: this is why tutoring with upperclassmen or professional tutors / professors works a lot better than two people telling each other the wrong things.
Of course, if you are consistently correct and just need a review/quiz buddy, then that's a different story. Learning something anew with another person and just reviewing the concepts are two different things.

Great advice Morsetlis. 😎

By no means am I a genius or anything, but I've had a struggling student literally say to me 'don't try to help me or study with me at all, it'll just be a waste of your time and I want you to do good on your exams'.
Well Student Doctor never sent me notifications for your responses, which I appreciate. I actually just ran across another group on this site that apparently has SKYPE Sessions going on. I don't plan on sitting with this person online studying along with them 😛 I graduated from college over 2 years ago and it's hard to do this on your own when you are working. I was hoping someone would be interested to keep each other motivated. It helps to know others are motivated and to work together on a study schedule.
I'd honestly rather work along with someone I'm not friends with-- to avoid chatting 😛
