how many hours would you call the "minimum level" of sleep a person can undergo and at the same time be active and perform well at school. I'm planning to sleep for 6 hours and study for the extra 2 hours. Do u think its a good idea?

Thanks
Nev

In biopsych I learned the minimum was four, but I'm sure it's slightly different for everyone.

I think you should be ok, i've gone on about 5-6 hours a night for the last 3+ years without much problem. I do recommend constantly having coffee around. However, everyone is different, and for some people, their ability to function and study drops when they start getting less than 8 hours, so it's very personal.

Well....it looks like i may adopt a 6-7 hour sleep schedule. Since I dont drink coffee, I hope I will be a ble to cope up.

Thanks

It differs by person alot!! I treat alot of psych conditions by treating sleep disturbance first, and many times that alone allows the person to begin getting a handle on things. Sleep deprived=psychiatric problems.
