Boston - Haven't heard from
Tufts - Haven't heard from
Maryland - Haven't heard from
University of New England - Haven't heard from

Rutgers - Rejected
NYU - Haven't heard from - **Had an interview here last year but still have not heard back from this year
Pitt - Rejected

Touro - Haven't heard from

I have been emailing the schools I haven't heard back from but nothing much and I just sent in my academic update (3.6 GPA for that Fall Semester, 2017). Currently, sitting at 3.81 Masters GPA and the academic update was sent about a week ago, but don't think it has been processed yet. I am kind of panicking and don't know what to do, spent thousands on the masters and have not had much success so far and parents are kind of grilling me about it.

Add some community service if you can. I think that’s what strongly helped my application. Also, a 21 DAT wouldn’t hurt, especially with your GPA. But, if you’re wondering about this cycle, keep your head up about the waitlist. I just got off a waitlist a week ago after bombing an interview, so I wouldn’t count yourself out until it’s over.

Did you only have a single semester worth of grades in Masters before the academic update? A lot of schools want to see a full year worth of grades and might explain why you haven't heard from them.

I had a full year's worth of grades and just sent in the previous Fall 2017's term grades, so essentially a year and half's worth.

When did you apply? Are the letters of rec from graduate professors? I don't think it's the academics that is holding you back considering I had a lot lower grad GPA and heard back from lot of schools

Do you know why you were rejected from the 2 schools?

I wouldn't say its game over but its getting to that time where you may start wanting to think about next cycle. I am not saying that you wont hear back this cycle but your DAT might be holding you back. In the event that you have to reapply I would get some more shadowing and volunteer service in now and maybe consider retaking the DAT if possible. If you are able to score a few points higher I think it would really distinguish you a bit more and as long as you apply early next cycle I don't see why you wouldn't get in somewhere. Don't lost all hope yet but do realize that if you end up having to reapply it will be more stressful to better your application if you start later rather than now.

In the email they said they couldn't disclose as to why I was rejected but I'll try calling and asking
looks like Pitt has DAT sub section cutoff scores of 17 and science/overall GPA of 3.2. Couldn’t get much from the Rutgers website.

It took about a month for my academic update to submit last year. Email the schools you haven’t heard from and update them that way after explaining that the academic update will take time to submit and you’d rather notify them now whilst the submission gets processed. Also mention anything else you have going on in progress/planned for this half of the year, especially if you weren’t able to submit it through the portal (for instance I conducted research after submitting my app but couldn’t add details about it to the portal so I emailed about it). Hopefully afterwards you’ll hear back soon.

In regards to Rutgers...they’re all about those numbers. Their average for the DAT tends to be on the higher end (around 22) even though they don’t “have a minimum.” Touro’s obsessed with numbers as well...like at a Columbia level obsessed. Just food for thought

Yeah, I had emailed schools with the unofficial transcript a couple days back and they told me they have added it to my file. I'll email in a week or so again explaining any other updates, if there are any. Thank you.
