I'm sure this has been asked 50,000 times, but I couldn't quite find exactly what I was looking for using the search function.

Long story short, my first EM rotation is from late August through Mid/late sept and it will yield a SLOE. Is getting an SLOE this late (assuming late sept - sometime in oct I will be getting it) putting me pretty far behind the ball?

Other pertinent info: D.O. applying only AOA, above avg comlex I & 2 for EM, already have a few good LORs. I will be doing 3-4 total 4 week auditions at EM programs. I don't care where I end up geographically but I am from the midwest.

Thanks ahead of time.

Its not too late but having one the day applications are released is preferred, but necessarily behind the 8 ball. If you are doing 3-4 4 week rotations, why not get another SLOE sooner? A lot of programs don't let you use your SLOE when applying to their program so you may want 2 sloes.

That said, AOA EM is all about auditions more so than boards and sloes.

Will programs only write SLOEs if you rotate for 4 weeks? My issue is with timing as well. Ideally, I'd like 3 SLOEs, but having three 4-week rotations under my belt before applications are released is looking pretty difficult.
