Just wondering what I should do here. I decided on EM late so I am just finishing my first rotation today. I was told the department only writes one SLOR per student for each rotation (Although now I've heard that its possible to get a second). I was told the same for the EM rotation I will be starting Monday. So I filled my other two LOR slots with non-EM letters already. So I'll only have one SLOR in by the middle of Oct. and another coming hopefully by Nov. 1. Now I'm kinda worried that I should have more than one SLOR to get some interviews before the Deans letter is sent out. So, should I try to get a second SLOR from the rotation I'm on now and hand it in sooner or will the one SLOR be enough until the second one comes in from rotation #2? Wasn't sure if it would look better having two SLOR's from two different programs or two from the same one. Thanks.

two slors from different programs with two others is fine.

You would be better off with two SLORS from two rotations. I would approach the prospective writer by the 20th of oct to give them time to get it in. If the letter has not been received by ERAS by 11/1, I would notify the programs you've applied to that you have an additional SLOR which should be downloaded from ERAS. A lot of programs download all your info when the deans' letters come out on 11/1, and don't check after that.
