Ok, sorry. I searched and came up with nothin.

I wasnt going to apply to MD residencies so I wasn't worried about the SLOR. That changed.

Is the SLOR form itself all that I need to submit? Or is it a template for the letter writer to include the information in a nice, pretty, long LOR? The SLOR from seems short... but it is quite to the point. Which is nice.

Thanks!!

The SLOR is all that is needed. While short in length, it contains the important information needed in a LOR.

Generally the SLOR is what you want.

The SLOR deals mostly with your clinical type of information. If you have worked with EM faculty in a nonclinical setting (research, etc), then a regular LOR is fine. You should generally have 2 SLOR's or more.

The SLOR is only for academic faculty. If you do community ED rotation, you should ask for a standard longhand letter.

Our program only issues one SLOR from the residency director and the medstudent director. The rest of us write longhand letters.
