I've decided to slow down and take an extra semester or two to get my BS and attempt to start in 2010 instead of 2009.
I have been wondering how I'm going to get downtown in time (I live in the Philly suburbs and all my target schools are in the city.) My youngest is in 3rd grade and would be going into 5th if I was going in 2009. She would still be in elementary school and the earliest she would leave the house would be 8:30 AM. There is no before school care and sending her to daycare only to spend more time in the bus than in the center makes no sense.
If I wait until 2010, she would be in middle school, leave earlier; early enough for my husband to stay with her until she got the bus to school.
Also, my mom will be retired and she has already offered to help me after she retired.
The only thing that worries me is the admissions people red flagging someone who went through a, "supersenior," year (or semester.)
