Thanks to the recent cuts to IPM, I'm looking into doing some anesthesia on the side with an ophtho colleague. I don't think my IPM office staff could handle learning all the nuances of anesthesia billing, and given my low volume (maybe 30 cases/wk about 8-10 weeks per year), there's not much incentive there for my practice to gain off of it.

Do any of you who use a billing service have a recommendation for high quality service at a reasonable cost?

I think billing for cataracts is even worse than the ipm cuts.

Do it yourself; it's a pain in the ass with your projected population of mainly Medicare pts, but once you're up and running it's easy.
