Hey guys!

I'm planning on getting an iPad Pro 3rd or 4th gen and was wondering what your opinions are on the type of keyboard to use? Or if a keyboard is even necessary if I already have a Macbook?

When I do a lot of typing and research, I stick with a laptop. I use my iPad for reading and taking notes with the pencil. Also, if your laptop is already 15", I'd get a 11" iPad. The 12.9" is a bit ungainly.

My laptop is the 13 inch, I believe. Do you have the 11''? I was going to go with the 12.9'' because a lot of people recommended that one.

If I were in your shoes, I would ask myself if I prefer typing out my notes or writing them out. If you like typing them out, get the 11" iPad for reading and occasional note taking. If you prefer writing them out, definitely get the 12.9" iPad which allows you space to put your notes on one side of the screen and a textbook or video on the other without feeling cramped. Unlike the 11", the 12.9" lets you have 50:50 split screen for apps.

In my case, I prefer typing out my notes and reading without taking notes. I have the 12.9 but I regret not getting the 11" just a little bit. Still an awesome device but it's not something you can hold with one hand while reading. That's really my only reason.
