Required to have a smartphone or PDA for the clinic years. I have an older iPhone, but since I'm due for an upgrade I figured I would ask to see what other people are using and how they like it...

Edit:

To clarify, my iPhone is slowly deteriorating and in need of replacement. I guess the main question is whether to go with a new iPhone or switch to one of the other smartphones?

The only programs i've used over the past year in the wards is texting, facebook, and maybe sodoku for really bad lectures. I think a PDA is the most overrated thing for the wards. If you want something new for yourself, great...but dont upgrade just because you think it will be useful during the clinical years.

If you have to ask, iPhone. It's made for technically inept people and it works really well.

Android is for geeks and people who hated AT&T. But now the iPhone is on Verizon.

I got a refurb ipod touch. Cheaper and works great since the hospital has wireless everywhere.

iphone is the most built out for medical apps. Adroid is catching up, but still behind.

You will need epocrates or another drug app, some sort of differential app (there are a couple of good ones)...those are the two major things you should always have.

You will use it. I'm surprised anyone would get through their 3rd and 4th year without needing to look up a differential or drug dosage.
