smooth muscle contraction vs cardiac muscle contraction

The graph for the action potentials look identical but the ions that flow are different...i think. If they are different can someone PLEASE help me out here... ive tried to search for it online but i cant seem to find it.

I'm like 80% sure..learned this stuff last yr, taking mcat next yr...

They both start with negative membrane potential. But, you have to look at the calcium ions. The calcium ions in cardiac muscles is through the calcium-gated ion channels. However, in smooth muscles, sodium ions depolarizes and start the release of calcium ions from the reticulum.

The SA node in the heart will also be a factor if a graph has something to do with EKGs
