  1. Pre-Podiatry
Hey guys, I am going to apply to some podiatry schools soon, but with my stats (2.5 gpa and 23q mcat) I'm not sure if I'll get in anywhere. Recently I have come up with the conclusion that I might have to do a post bach or special masters program. I was wondering if you guys could tell me about any programs that would take me with those numbers. Also, would doing a regular masters program help or does it need to be "special"?
P.S. No need to remind of how low my gpa is, I already know. 🙁
Thanks

Some people I have interviewed with have masters degrees. There are no specific "prep masters" programs like some MD schools have that I am aware of. I think as long as it is kind of health/science related it would be good. In this case, they would probably be just as interested in your performance in the program as the course of study.

But KSUCPM took someone took someone with a 2.5 last year, so you do have a chance and I would definitely apply there. It is a nice place and a good program

I agree with Dr. Rock. It's still early in the cycle and if you apply broadly you might get interviews unless you have your heart set on a specific program. However all 9 schools are excellent and will give you the same degree (DPM). The differences comes down to mainly personal preferences like location, environment/weather, scholarships, cost of living, etc.

Hey thank for your responses, and giving me hope. I will apply but I'm trying to get ready in case I dont get in. Do you guys know if doing a regular masters program would help or not?
