Just thought to search for some quick advice before I make a fool out of myself. I'm applying a few SMP's and they all have letters about, "why our SMP?" or "why are you interested in a biomedical sciences program?" Is it okay to straight up come out and say because I want to get into medical school? Or do you have to kiss ass and say because I love your school and love sciences and its so great studying?

Obviously not going to be that blunt, but I'm saying along the lines of I'm a few years removed from school and need to have current sciences and stimulate my brain and prep for applying to graduate school. This program provides me a great stepping stone to hone study skills, take medical school courses, and ultimately lead to a better resume for me to apply to medical school. Cool or a no go?

Say the truth. Tell them that you want to be prepared etc & also see if their mission lines up with it vision then talk about them both

You should talk about its mission for an SMP? What should you say? Just that you chose this program, because of its values and philosophy towards healthcare, sort of like writing a secondary for a med school?
