Hi everyone, just a quick question. I am thinking about applying to a SMP program after my current grad program (3.7 gpa, hard science). I have a cum GPA of 3.1, but a sci of under 3. Is it worth doing a SMP in my case? Would doing well in a SMP, coupled with my grad work, kinda negate the low sci GPA? Or will med schools only look at the low GPA and either screen me out or not look at my application? Thanks!

Wait you are in grad school and thinking about SMP? Is grad program non-science? If it's science, I would really just focus on acing MCAT and apply broadly. That should do (easier said than done, but yeah).

Depending on your home state, I think you may have a shot once you've finished that masters if you have a strong research component.

ah, here's hoping haha. Yes, the masters is in a hard science, but I was just thinking of a SMP of solidifying my chances, as long as it was not to expensive haha.

just bumping, in case anyone else has an thoughts.
