I got accepted to a few SMP's, and the one I am going to pushes us to apply during the year. They handout interviews to those who apply during the year and get above a 3.5 GPA. My question is should I apply during the year to just the SMP school, or would that look bad? I have a 3.4 cGPA, 3.25 sGPA with a 517 MCAT.
Why would it look bad to apply to one school? Who is doing the looking?

Rather, the question should be: is it a good idea to apply to only this program? My answer is, what if you have an off day and bomb the interview?

I think that unless you really, really like this particular school, you owe it to yourself to apply widely to those schools that reward reinvention.

@Goro I would love to go to this program for medical school because I love their mission. This SMP school only looks at those who apply during the program in a separate pool of applicants. Those who apply to the SMP school after done with the SMP don't get looked at in a separate pool. So, they would be added into the regular pool. I would rather apply broadly to all schools after the SMP, with my SMP GPA, if I don't get into the SMP school during the year. I am not sure if that makes sense or not.
Always go for the sure bet, so your plans are sound.
