I've still got three more undergrad years and then I'll apply. I'm not using the possibility of doing an SMP as an excuse to dick around in undergrad...but I was just wondering how some of you are....

1. Supporting yourself. Are you working part time or taking out loans for education and living expenses?
2. Interviews...if you applied to medical school already and are doing an SMP during the gap year (assuming its a one year SMP like EVMS)...i noticed some medical school interviews as early as october....is it hard being in SMP and going to interviews...do instructors usually understand if you have to take an exam early ect?

Just wondering...

thanks

1. Either loans or "personal resources" (like Mommy and Daddy) are what most people have to do. You really don't have time to work.

2. When you're a borderline applicants, don't expect the interviews to come pouring in. Go to the ones you get. There is usually some flexibility in scheduling an interview date. You will almost certainly have to miss class, but don't miss an exam. Some professors *might* be willing to let you take the exam on another day, but it is unlikely. Just schedule the interviews around the exams.
