Hi everyone,

I am having a hard time determining when SN1/E1 and SN2/E2 occurs when given the reactants and reagents. I understand the mechanism associated with each, I am just a bit confused as to when each will occur (ex: SN1 over E1).

I've read over kaplan...just to be confused.

Can anyone help clarify this topic for me....maybe a set of rules?

Thanks everyone!

Thank you guys!

I clicked on the link you provided...and also ran a search to find the threads regarding the topic.

Thanks!

By the way...did you guys find the Kaplan subject tests to be challenging? I thought the Gchem was ok...but some of the OChem stuff is tough...at least thus far. Hopefully, the real DAT ochem is easier?
