hahah i didn't apply to UNC, so I don't know the answer to your question...but I was thinking "gee whiz berken, that's an amusing post." so I thought I'd go ahead and comment.

A friend of a friend's mother's boyfriend whose step sister works on the adcom at UNC told me they rescind all your interview offers from other schools and give them to other more deserving people who read directions and keep better track of time.
