Awesome.
OP, my friend said she volunteered for 200 hours when I think it was only 100, what should I do????
hey dwyane can i be in your fave 5?
Is it really that hard to type out a few more letters? Or is purposely misspelling the "cool" thing to do nowadays? I am seriously curious, I don't know these things 😕
And warranted or not, you should have known that this sort of response was coming...
Clearly you've been living on mars, in a cave, with your fingers in your ears and your eyes shut for the past few years.
This has been "cool" for quite some time. And by "cool" I mean "ridiculously idiotic, yet commonly practiced."
"lol kewl ur ekg haz sumthin funee on it lemme go tell mah attendin brb k?"
I knew a chick in highschool, she told me that
1. She dated a rockerfeller who gave her a Porsche
2. Her mother is a high up in the Oracle company
3. She goes to paris for the weekend
4. Her boyfriend is a special agent sent by CIA to seduce her.
I used to think she's bat**** insane compulsive liar(she went to my middle class highschool).
Then I went to her house.
She lives in a gated community in the mountains, by herself. Apparently her mom did buy her a 2 million dollar mansion.
I fail.
oh **** I understood most of that.
*gouges out eyes*
That would only be cool if accompanied by an amusing picture of a cat.👎
In some ways, I think you guys should get off the OP's back. He's never been one to take his online persona too seriously, and it doesn't look like that's gonna change anytime soon.
OP: Maybe you know some other minority students (maybe that you've met on the interview trail) that went to the same NYU second look? My roommate's a minority applicant and he's stayed in touch with a fair amount of the minority interviewees he's met on the trail.. It really is a small world as far as minority applicants go.
You could do a little detective work, and be like, hey, I know so-and-so, I heard she came out to the second look, did you meet her? etc etc. Just a thought.. you could always wait until later to find out if she actually enrolls at NYU
no, there was this kid in my high school like the person the other poster described. he was in the IB program and dropped it his senior year. he said he wanted to go to UCLA, which preferred AP classes over IB so he dropped IB to take more AP ones. why would UCLA prefer AP over IB? they're looked at the same by all colleges who actually know what IB is, and UCLA is definitely a school that would know what IB was. then, later in the year he said he was national merit but "for some reason" they did not announce his name on the intercom like everyone else's. he also wasn't given the special candy-filled mug with balloons like everyone else. we asked him where his balloons were and he said "oh they're in my car and I already ate all the candy." he ended up going to our crappy state school (the crappiest one of the 3 in our state). we asked him what happened to UCLA and he goes "oh, I got into UCLA but decided to stay close to home instead." UH HUH after how BAD he wanted to go there....
then in college, he didn't take any classes his first year. he said he was going to model!? that didn't make sense because he was ugly and had pimples all over his face. I don't know how you could model like that...the next year we asked him about modeling and he said "oh yeah, I modeled a little a bit for the local newspaper but that was it." UH HUH.
so, of course now, everyone just refers to him as a compulsive liar and doesn't believe anything he says. we've never said anything to his face since we'd feel bad and are too nice of ppl.
Good grief, give the OP a break. If I'm not mistaken, this is the same guy who's been accepted to nearly every top-10 school, so I'm pretty sure he's not insecure. So what if he wants attention for being accepted to big-name schools; I wouldn't blame him. He has nothing left to accomplish in undergrad and he has time to kill. Besides, I don't see anything wrong with him questioning this girl's legitimacy. If someone lies about an accomplishment that took you years of hard work to achieve, I don't see anything wrong with calling them out. I wouldn't go out of my way to do it, but if I had nothing better to do. . .
Wow, a poor baby like you who is stupid enough to write (and write poorly) such an idiotic post. Why do you give a crap what the deal is with her?
Haha and a person like you will go to a place like Harvard because of being a minority.
This URM business is such a crock of s*** from the perspective of those of us who actually work hard and are intelligent.
Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest.
