... the test starts at 8:00 AM. Are they serious? How do they expect us to think optimally at that time of the day?

Btw, this is the Canadian DAT.

Anyone from Ontario get a different start time?

The start time varies a bit for the canadian dat but they're all early. I agree with you but it doesn't matter anyways since your score is based on how well you do relative to your peers

This brings me back to SAT days. Oh gosh. Reporting to the center at 7:15am. 40 mins of bureaucracy (triple-checking your ID, seating charts, proctors reading instructions monotonously) all while you're so nervous and just want to get started.

Good luck, Canadian brothers. At least, on the bright side, you'll be done by lunchtime.

Yeah they're dead serious. It should be fine since the test is standardized, everyone will be waking up as early as you are!

edit: Good luck on your DAT!

Damn, I'm trying to fix my sleeping habit now, I haven't woken up that early since 2012, lol

Quick question: I'm not doing the Manual Dexterity test, so does that mean my test actually starts at 8:30 AM? What do I do for the first 30 minutes, just sit there and watch people do the MD test?

Edit: I'm assuming the DAT is in the order that's listed on their CDA website - i.e. MDT, SNS, PAT, RCT

yeah you start at 8:30. Redownload your confirmation email a few days before because they can change your times suddenly. MDT is first so you don't enter the room until MDT is completed. And yeah that's the order the sections are in.
